CERTIFICATION 2008

At the 2008 IDAL Convention in Charleston, Amy Scheg, chapter president of the Distelfink Artisans and Beverly Hicks were awarded the title of Certified Stenciler.  Both women had already passed in the categories of wood and fabric.  This year they submitted passing wall pieces.  Amy and Beverly could be seen throughout the convention sporting a blue rosette ribbon, letting everyone know that they were newly ‘Certified’.  The rosette ribbon was introduced this year at the request of the IDAL Board of Directors, who wanted to see passing candidates receive as much recognition as possible for their achievement.  The lettering for the ribbon was provided by Sheri and Hugh Hoeger of Say What.  The hard working judges for the 2008 convention were Michele Hollick CS, Tina Daley CS and Nancy Janovsky CS, CST.  During the expo, there were a lot of questions and interest regarding the newer entry level for Certification, the Certified Stenciling Artisan.  Carol Van Gerena of Red Lion Stencils has created the drawings for the stencil cutting section of Certification.  IDAL members have from now to April 15th to apply for Certification 2009.
