Calling all members! It's time to shake up those muses and give them a chance to fly!!!!

Submit your design for our 2011 Philanthropic mural which will be created at convention this year and presented to the Virginia Living Museum during convention. This competition is open to all current IDAL members. You must attend convention to participate. If your design is chosen, your participation and insight are most appreciated at convention. You will be given credit for the design inspiration, but the completed work will be a gift from International Decorative Artisans League to the Philanthropic recipient and be created by volunteer attendees.

The winning artist and design will be featured in a future Artisphere Online and on www.decorativeartisans.org. You may also receive coverage in local or national newspapers and magazines.

2010: "Helping Hands Heal Shattered Lives"

2010 Philanthropic Project - William Temple House

We received this letter about the 2010 Philanthropic project installation at the William Temple House in Oregon (shown above):

Dear IDAL members,

Thank you for the stunning, beautiful mural that now graces our reception lobby. We are delighted and deeply grateful. This past weekend, at our annual open house, we dedicated this magnificent work of art. Kara McGhee was present and spoke about IDAL, the process, and the symbolism. Your philanthropic projects are a wonderful idea. And we are thrilled to have been chosen as this year's recipient. At least 20,000 people annually will see the mural.

Thanks you for giving our community this extraordinary work of art that we could not have acquired except through your kind, benevolent generosity.

Sincerely,
Allen L. Hunt
Executive Director, William Temple House
